A Parallel Audit: One for Shyne and One for NICH

A game at which two can play seems to be the direction that the tiff between Music Ambassador Shyne Barrow and besieged NICH President Sapna Budhrani is headed.  Budhrani’s suspension came into effect on Monday, however, a formal review of the expenditure of funds made available to the Office of the Music Ambassador for Music Week 2018 has also been ordered.  The request comes after Barrow was asked to account for monies he received for the annual event this year, following controversial remarks in which he openly questioned Budhrani’s suitability for the post of president of the National Institute of Culture and History.  Cabinet has instructed that an external audit be conducted by Baker Tilly Hulse at NICH, while Budhrani remains on administrative leave.  An internal audit, on the other hand, will also be undertaken at Shyne’s office to determine how the thirty-five thousand dollar contribution was spent.

“All of my receipts are there.  I find the audit to be a strategic move on the part of Budhrani to distract and divert attention from the issues that shes having with her own internal auditor.  But all of my receipts are there and music week cost me seventy-two-thousand, five hundred dollars, so certainly I can account for the thirty-five thousand that was contributed by NICH.  That is not a problem whatsoever.  However, I was told by the internal auditor that he was instructed not to speak to me, so I dont see how you can conduct an audit of my office without speaking to me.  I find that strange, but lets see if that will continue because she is now on leave.”

“Excuse me sir, is this the same theologian internal auditor who will be auditing your office?”

Shyne Barrow

“Again, I know that there is only one internal auditor at NICH, but whoever is designated to get an accounting of the thirty-five thousand dollars, I welcome that accounting.”

Reporter

“Do you think this is all about the money?  I mean, there has been allegation that under previous leadership you were able to get your stipend or funding in one lump sum, but now with this new NICH president her rules are that you get it by quarterly installments.”

Shyne Barrow

“Well again, I have spent a hundred and fifty thousand dollars of my money so far this year.  So certainly, whatever monies are contributed by NICH are well deserved on my part, well earned and initially I had no budget at NICH, but as I spent my money and spent my money it was decided that, you know what, the efforts of the Ambassador of Music should be supported.”

Ambassador of music? What’s that? What music? How does one get a job like “ambassador of music”?

THANK YOU! (WITH ALL THE CAPITAL LETTERS). SHYNE, YOU’RE FULL OF S..T. Whether this young lady is competent and qualified or not, who are you to question her integrity and qualifications, when you have absolutely neither of the two? I keep reminding these dumb ass cruffy that if it wasn’t for your deportation, you didn’t want anything to do with Belize nor your father. You cursed him and Belize in your songs, especially with Barrington Levy. I feel sorry for Belizeans because there’s so much ignorance and illiteracy permeating that country now that they believe anything. You’re a “chip off the old block”, just like your father, a lot of words and talking to bullshit people. You’d want one like me who’d call you out on it though. Oh how they’ve forgotten you’ve had your share of financial improprieties and questionable practices. If they didn’t use Lord Rhaburn, Mr. Peters, Andy Palacio or any of the members of the Original Sounds Incorporated music band, why the hell you? You don’t know nor have you ever promoted Belizean culture. Then, you have the audacity to post on YouTube that you opened a school in Belize. Where Shyne? Two damn Apple Computers in that downstairs at Michael Finnegan’s office on Amara Avenue? You sell that bullshit to those in the US who are out of touch with Belize. What do you and your aunt, Sister B have to offer Belize? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. NO EDUCATION, YOU CAN’T SPEAK ELOQUENTLY NOR CAN YOU TRAVEL. So, basically all that you all are practicing is an autocracy to continue the hustle. I read a couple weeks ago when this incident started where you stated that you’re a Grammy Award Winner. WHAT GRAMMY DID YOU WIN SHYNE? CRUFFY TAKE ANY BULLSHIT AND BELIEVE. THE FIRST RAP GRAMMY EVER WAS IN 1989 GIVEN To ANY RAPPER AND THAT WAS DJ JAZZY JEFF AND THE FRESH PRINCE (FOR THOS OF YOU WHO DON’T KNOW FRESH PRINCE IS WILL SMITH). Some of you all weren’t even born as yet. I do believe there was not another rap grammy until 1990. For sure in 1996, Naughty By Nature won, then it was the Fugees with Lauryn Hill; after that I think Eminiem won twice within a three year span. Your first album did real well, but by the time it broke, you were already in legal trouble and incarcerated. Not even the great Jay-Z won, whose 1996 album, Reasonable Doubt, is till a hip-hop classic to this day. Stop feeding the gullible Belizean public with bullshit. I digress.

Then, on top of that, your father and Finnegan used Belize’s money to hire an attorney. I think his name is Ogletree. He couldn’t do anything for you so you all petitioned the governor of New York and then president Brack Obama and when you couldn’t get your way, you appeared on a political campaign ad against him. I know your dirt Shyne.
