Shyne Says His Beef with Sapna is Not Personal

Shyne Barrow

According to Shyne Barrow, the spat between himself and Sapna Budhrani is not a personal vendetta being carried out against her.  Likewise, he told the media this morning that the disagreement has very little, if nothing to do with the allocation of monies to his office, since funds that have been invested so far aren’t sufficient to support the local music industry.

Shyne Barrow, Music Ambassador

“My issue was never necessarily a matter of the distribution of funds, although that certainly becomes problematic when there are so many events and so many artists that need to be serviced on limited resources because even the hundred and fifty thousand that I spent, combined with the ninety-six thousand that comes from the National Institute of Culture and History is not enough to support the music industry.  I believe that we need a million dollars annually to have drastic improvement and progress in the music industry. But certainly, communication and just an overall respect for the Office of the Music Ambassador and the artists that I represent.  I help ninety-nine point nine percent of the artists and the ones that haven’t gotten help from me, they can reach out to me tomorrow and they will receive assistance from me.  I never tell anyone no.  So certainly in the regard of servicing musicians there is no one that has done as much as I have to service musicians from my own pocket.  So I believe that anyone coming to lead an institution so important as NICH should meet with all the heads of department and all of those stakeholders and learn and understand what the needs are and charter a way forward.  To be dismissive and to just disregard anyone is not the way.  And again, it can’t be a personal matter when the Christian Workers Union completely endorsed my statements about Budhrani.  So to make it a personal issue really does a disservice to the true problems that are affecting the archaeological department, as well as the Institute of Creative Arts.”

Really? The PM son given a made up job with no clear mission. There is no such position in the world. What does he or his office exactly do? This whole mess sounds like someone took away Shyne’s government ATM card and now he wants money but for what? No break down of what he is supposed to do and what he is unable to do because of the shortage of funds, instead he talks in circles. Stop putting uneducated idiots in the public face like it’s ok. Y’all look stupid!
