3 Prisoners on the Run, Following Escape from Independence Lockup

A trio of suspected burglars is on the lam tonight, having escaped from lawful custody on Wednesday in Independence Village.  Selvin Linares, Gregory Flowers and Kendale Flores absconded during a thunderstorm sometime between eight and nine p.m. by damaging the lock to their holding cell.  A fourth prisoner who was in the lockup for a separate offence stayed put inside the cellblock.  ACP Joseph Myvett told the media this afternoon that a dragnet has been setup in an attempt to catch the criminals.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“Are these individuals considered dangerous?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“No, they are not considered to be dangerous, as they were only charged for burglary.  A manhunt is currently on to try and recapture those escaped prisoners, as well, there is an ongoing investigation in relation to the escape.”

Reporter

“Your investigations are preliminary, but could you say whether they cut through the bars, they picked the locks?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“It is my understanding that the cell’s door was damaged, damaging the lock.  This apparently occurred during the process of a thunderstorm sometime last night.”

Reporter

“Any idea how many police officers were on duty at that police station?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“No, not at this time, however, I can say that there was one additional prisoner in the said cell block who did remain in custody.”
