Teen Boy Shot While Pointing Gun Still in Hospital; Was Firearm Planted?

Thirteen-year-old Elwin Pitter remains in recovery at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital under police guard.  It is expected that upon his release, charges stemming from several firearms offences will be preferred on him.  The teenage boy was shot in the lower legs by a team of GSU officers who responded to information that Pitter was in possession of a firearm.  The incident took place on Saturday evening on Raccoon Street, near the entrance to his grandmother’s house.  According to Roy Pitter, as many as eight shots were fired at his son during the ordeal.  Despite maintaining Elwin’s innocence, the aggrieved father says that a firearm was intentionally planted on his son, before being served with a sheaf of charge sheets in the absence of a parent or a Justice of the Peace at the hospital.

“That is too much force for a thirteen-year-old fu get shot.  Unnu di seh unnu di seh unnu sih di man wid wahn gun, wid wahn bag, yeah, dat da weh I di yer.  And wahn next situation unnu di tell me that dehn charge di young bwai, send charge sheet da hospital yesterday without his father’s consent, his mother’s consent.  No JP or Justice of the Peace mi di deh.  Ih only thirteen-years-old.  Wih got wahn law.  We have a law, but we noh di abide by our law.”

“What do you want to see become of all of this?  Your son is facing several charges, he’s a minor at thirteen-years-old, what do you want to see get done?”

Roy Pitter

“I want to see justice, that way deh.  If my son do the crime and have to spend the time, I have no problem with that because with me, I does sell drugs.  Yoh buss me, dehn cohn ask me question bout da who do this, I noh got time fu dat.  Dah me yoh buss, yoh charge me for weh I do… Da soh I behave, yoh undastand.  And I wah be real, like I seh, I noh have nothing against the cops, they have their job to do.  But di feeling weh I have, I think dehn plant that gun on my son.  That is my feeling, cause my son noh play wid gun.  I noh even have gun ties, as dehn cohn I bruk up den deh, sih one down deh…”

“Now, what is the present situation involving your son at the hospital?  I know he is hospitalized with gunshot wounds, how does he stand at the moment?”

Roy Pitter

“Well, right now only ih right foot fractured because I just done talk to him just now and thing, yeah.  Ih right foot fractured.  Ih move ih next foot because da eena ih two foot ih get shot.  But di question I am asking, why dehn haftu use that brutal force?  I think dehn target my son or maybe dehn mek mistake with my son.  That da weh I believe, because my son is not a gunman, gang member, ih noh heng out nowhere.”

Police say that a thirty-eight special revolver with five live rounds of ammunition were recovered from the scene of the shooting.
