Chinese Family Suffers Home Break-In
On Tuesday night, a Chinese family was assaulted during a home invasion on the north side of Belize City. Zing Zhou was inside their Douglas Jones Street house with his family when two armed burglars entered their home on the upper flat of the building which also houses a salon. Zhou was gun butted before the gunmen stole one thousand five hundred dollars in cash and three cell phones. Inspector Wilfredo Ferrufino spoke to the media about the incident.

“Police received information that there was an aggravated burglary at #63 Douglas Jones [Street]. The resident, who is one Zing Zhou, a thirty-seven-year-old reported that sometime around eight p.m., he was at home with his wife and daughter when two unmasked men entered his home; one was armed with a firearm and demanded money. He was hit with that firearm and received a wound to the forehead. Taken from that incident was fifteen hundred dollars in cash and three cell phones. Police have since detained three persons in regards to this robbery; no one has been charged. The investigation is ongoing.”
