K.H.M.H. Dismisses Some Employees – but They Want Bosses Gone

Meanwhile, an employment crisis is unfolding at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, amid other serious issues that the national referral hospital is presently facing to do with the crumbling roof.  News Five understands that there has been a string of terminations at the hospital in which a number of employees, including former city councilor Doctor Alaine Gonzalez, have been dismissed.  Doctor Gonzalez was escorted out of the hospital by security on Tuesday as he arrived to appeal his termination. Earlier today, an ad hoc committee of the K.H.M.H. Authority issued a release in which it is demanding the immediate removal of the Director of Human Resources, Ixchell Murillo and Director of Medical Services Dr. Lisa Johnson for failing to follow protocols.  The call comes after, according to the release, a group of persons were terminated in (Quote) “labor laws of Belize and the KHMHA Procedure manual.” (Unquote) The release says that the committee finds the terminations to be distasteful and troubling in the way they were carried out.
