Omar Chuc Takes Home Brand New Wingle

A Belize City resident originally from San Ignacio is the proud owner tonight of a brand new Great Wall Wingle pick-up truck courtesy of Courts Belize Limited and Wingle distributors Caribbean Motors. Omar Chuc says it couldn’t have come at a better time for him and his family. But as News Five’s Aaron Humes reports, the superstore managers had to employ a bit of subterfuge to get him to come and pick up his prize.

Balloons, cheering staff, television cameras – it was not your typical morning at Courts Belize Limited. But Omar Chuc, lured to the store by his boss, still couldn’t believe he had won a brand new Great Wall Wingle truck due to his entries in the store’s special raffle.

“I have been doing this for more than fifteen years, I been dealing with Courts but never won anything.”

“And so you came here not knowing what would happen. What did you think you were coming to do?”

“My boss told me let’s go, we go da City and I wan you come and give me a hand. When we were coming, when we got off yanda I thought maybe we come buy something from Courts, and he said come follow me and give me a hand. So I followed him and he opened the door and said get in.  I was surprised.  I mih really need a vehicle. The last vehicle I had five years and when I sold it I didn’t buy another vehicle.”

Chuc had thirty tickets as a result of two purchases made before Christmas. Of course his boss was in on the plan to get him to town to collect his prize, aided by Courts staff like Grisel Carballo.

“We had had our Win the Wingle campaign since November and we had extended the deadline up until March. So throughout that time, whether you’re a Courts customer on cash or credit, you had a chance. For every fifty dollars you spent – if you were a cash customer, you get one chance per every fifty dollars you spent with us and if you were a credit customer, you double your chance of winning, getting more tickets to go into the raffle of the Wingle. And every Wednesday we had Wingle Wednesdays, whereby if you purchased on Wednesdays with Courts you tripled your chances.  So this was a really, really good opportunity for all our Courts customers – we would like to thank them on behalf of our Courts staff, management, we would like to say thank you for the years of shopping with us and here we are. All the tickets countrywide came to Belize City and we had to go through the audit and the J.P. stating that the winner is just one person selected. Today we are here to reveal and we had a surprise for our customer. Here at Courts we always like to surprise our winners, we like to give them that full attention and celebration for them.”

And Chuc not only drives away with the Wingle itself, he also gets free service and warranty from Caribbean Motors as explained by sales executive Leroy Gentle.

“We wanted to give the client, whoever it was that won, the full package. Apart from the three years’ manufacturers’ warranty – bumper to bumper, one hundred thousand kilometers – the client also gets twenty-four hours’ on and off roadside assistance. That means that literally wherever Mr. Chuc is in this country, if there is a manufacturers’ defect – if there is an issue that shouldn’t arise, shouldn’t come up – one of our service teams will be dispatched to his ocation, wherever he is, and they will render aid free of cost to him because it’s a manufacturers’ defect. Aside from that, for the next three years, one hundred thousand kilometers, Mr. Chuc will not be maintaining that vehicle out of his pocket. He has free maintenance via Caribbean Motors. That means literally all the oil changes; the filter changes; all your fluid top-offs, a set of tire changes, a break pad change throughout that hundred thousand kilometers – all of that is courtesy Caribbean Motors because of this promotion.”
