Butane Gas Going Up by $10

There is no reprieve for consumers as prices for essential goods keep going up. Fuel went up just before the Easter and your light bill is likely to go up soon enough by as much as seven percent.  Tonight, the news is that you will be spending more for the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas beginning this coming Friday. Consumers will be taking ten dollars more from their pockets to pay for a hundred pound cylinder of LPG.  No one is spared as the sharp increase which is more than ten percent, takes place across the board everywhere in the country.  In fact, it is the second for this year. The first hike was seven dollars in January; so combined with the new ten dollar increase, you will be spending seventeen dollars more in less than three months for this basic commodity.  The Supplies Control Unit in the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Commerce today released the new controlled price for the LPG as follows: in Belize City, it is one hundred and fourteen dollars; in Belmopan and San Ignacio, one hundred and sixteen; in Benque Viejo del Carmen, it is one hundred and fifteen; Corozal consumers will pay one hundred and fourteen; Dangriga is one hundred and eighteen and in the deep south, the LPG will be selling at the highest at one hundred and nineteen dollars. So brace up to spend more every time you fill up.
