SMART donates to Hand in Hand Ministries

The donation will be used to cover operations cost for the outreach program of the non-profit organization which includes serving children living with HIV.  News Five’s Andrea Polanco stopped in at the handing over today.

Abel Vargas

, Director of Operations, Hand in Hand Ministries

“The donation that we are getting here from Smart is very much an encouragement for us. Ever since we started Hand in Hand here about fifteen years ago, we have always been trying to garner the local community to assist us because most of our monies come from abroad. It is important for us to show some kind of local support, so when SMART rose to the occasion for us, it was very encouraging for us and we are very excited about it. This is a very momentous thing for us that we can now show with proof to our head office that the local community is with us. The monies are gonna be used primarily for the outreach program, especially in this building here. As you see, we have already built our building, we are in here living, and we are now in our permanent home. However, there a lot of bills to be paid. Nothing comes free, of course.  So, this money is gonna be used for most of what we have invested in our outreach program.”

Adelaide Sabido, PR & Branding Officer, SMART

“We have been partnering with Hand in Hand Ministries for the past year or so. A lot of the work that Hand in Hand does is very respectable, honorable, and hospitable. It falls in line with what we believe in at Smart – in serving the people of this nation. At Smart we focus a lot on education, health, culture and Hand in Hand falls in line with that. So, we are very honored today to hand over our final payment of a fifteen thousand dollar value that they will use to fund their programs to ensure that the relationship is ongoing and continues with Hand in Hand. They have our support continuously to do the work that they do. We are honored to be a part of that and we want everyone to know that they work that they do is honorable. It is very bold and very difficult in times like these to find funding to help people and the doors here are always open.”
