Crooked Tree Causeway Set for End of Year Re-Do

Edmond Castro

On the other side of the Philip Goldson Highway, the Crooked Tree Road and Causeway is expected to receive significant upgrades, improving the lives of residents who have faced challenges with the current causeway and main road into the village which runs for four miles. But area representative Edmond Castro says the feasibility study and design to be conducted by Caribbean Civil Group Limited of Nassau, Bahamas, will run until the middle of the year and tender will be issued for the civil works to begin near to the end of this year.

Edmond Castro, NEMO Minister

“I think, from the meeting we had with the people that are conducting the assessment, they should complete their work by July and immediately after they complete their work, we should know exactly what it is and we’ll put it out for tender, and hopefully by November, the end of this year we should be able to start [seeing] some real work getting done on the causeway there in the Crooked Tree area.”

The contract is for a quarter of a million dollars.
