Disappearance of Mark Pollard Linked to Possible Family Feud

Mark Pollard

Forty-nine-year-old Mark Pollard, a resident of Peter Seco Street, was reported missing in early July 2017.  He has not been seen or heard from since he set out on a routine jog along the Phillip Goldson Highway near the Haulover Bridge.  But is his mysterious disappearance the result of a family feud over willed property?  There are many unanswered questions surrounding his unexplained departure.  One man who has been investigating the case on his own is Jose Luis Espat.  Over the past few months, he has been following these incidents closely, with assistance from the families of the missing men.  Earlier today, Espat presented a series of three voice messages in which a member of Pollard’s family can be heard demanding that the keys to the Lake Independence home be turned over to her.  In one of those recordings, the relative stated that Pollard was killed because of the property in question.  We note that Mark Pollard has not been reported or declared dead by the Belize Police Department.  Here’s what Espat shared during an interview this afternoon.

“I’ve been on this case from last year.  I did an preliminary investigation, that’s canvassing and searching of his property to see if we have any evidence leading to anywhere.  Based on everything that was gathered and a discussion with close family members of Mr. Pollard, I reached to a theory which I don’t want to disclose because it has information, you know, concerning the case.  This theory is a bit closer to being proven, you know, with information and evidence that we have been gathering which was sent to the police this morning.  I had met with Mr. Clive Williams to discuss and let him review the evidence and he asked Mr. Cowo to deal with the case.  This morning I sent to him all the information that I’ve gathered.  Remaining probably, are a couple more to send for him as soon as I get it.  This information leads now into a direction of whom, why Mr. Pollard or who would be responsible for Mr. Pollard’s disappearance.  This is strong evidence.  Mr. Williams has heard it and they believe that there is something to act on and the police have, well I gave them some time to act upon it and I believe that they will act on it.  Failure to do so, then I will have to release what I have to the media because it is no longer acceptable that the police are doing work when they want to or for cases that they want to.”
