Stabbing in Corozal Leaves 2 Men Hospitalized

Two Corozal men are hospitalized following an attack in a village in the north. According to Police, a man reported that a group of men attacked him with a machete on New Year’s Day. The man told police that he stabbed one of his attackers in self-defense. Today both men are in the hospital with machete and knife wounds. ACP Joseph Myvett tells us more:

“There was a stabbing in Louisville Village in the Corozal District sometime around two-thirty a.m., yesterday morning. One Alejandro Yam reported that whilst walking in the village he was attacked by a group of male persons, one of whom chopped him in the lower back and in the process of defending himself he inflicted a stab wound to one Eric Cobb who was a part of the group. Both persons are admitted; one at the Northern Regional Hospital and the other at the Corozal Community Hospital. Police investigation into this matter, as well, continues.”
