Meet the New Year’s babies at the K.H.M.H.

Thirteen babies were born on New Year’s Day. According to the Belize Health Information System, the Ministry of Health says that four babies were born in Belize City; three in Dangriga; three in Belmopan; two in Orange Walk Town and one in Punta Gorda. No births were recorded for San Ignacio and Corozal. This morning, the first two babies born at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital were celebrated with gift packages and the media tagged along to meet the newborns.  News Five’s Andrea Polanco tells us more about the first baby girl and baby boy born at the K.H.M.H.

Two babies were born at the K.H.M.H. on New Year’s Day. Those babies, a girl and boy, had a normal delivery to moms Arlene Burgess of Gardenia Village and Elizabeth Castillo of Belize City. Arlene Burgess delivered the first baby. The twenty-eight-year-old mom of three other children says her fourth baby came two days after her due date. The baby girl, who hasn’t been named, was delivered at 12:52 on New Year’s Day morning. The eight pound twelve ounce baby is her second daughter.
