2 Arsons over the Holiday Weekend

The holiday weekend wasn’t without its share of arsons.  In the north and south there were two cases reported of the criminal burning of properties.  On Saturday night, at around seven-thirty, Dangriga police were called out to an area along the Southern Highway where they saw a twenty-by-twenty feet wooden and thatched house engulfed in flames.  According to twenty-four-year-old Innocenta Bol, she was on her way to a shop when she met her ex-common-law husband Feliciano Ical.  She reported to police that Bol told her, “right now you will see what will happen.” He then allegedly ran towards her house and shortly thereafter she saw smoke coming from the direction of her home.  There was also a robbery reported in San Ignacio Town on Sunday night.  ACP Joe Myvett shared the details of those weekend incidents.

“During the first arson, one Innocenta Bol of mile twenty-five on the Southern Highway reported that she had a discussion with a male person and shortly thereafter she observed that her thatch and wooden house was on fire.  In regards to this matter, police are seeking one person as the house was completely destroyed by fire, along with its contents. In relation to the second report of arson, Diana Mai of Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk reported that her common-law husband had an altercation with a neighbor and as a consequence he lit her house on fire, damaging some of her belongings.  One person has since been detained pending this investigation. In regards to the robbery, police received a report that on the thirty-first of December, sometime around 8:30 p.m., that there was a robbery on Joseph Andrews Drive in San Ignacio.  Following up on the information, police intercepted a vehicle where three persons have since been detained and two masks were found in the vehicle.  These persons remain detained whilst police investigation continue into this matter.”

 

Thirty-four-year-old Catelino Urizar is being sought in connection with the Trial Farm arson on New Year’s Eve.
