CitCo Xmas Cheer Moves to St. John’s Vianney

The Belize City Council was out and about the City spreading some more Christmas cheer. The twelve days of Christmas continued at Saint John Vianney Primary School. The Public Relations Unit of the City Council went over to hand out gifts and goody bags. City Councilor Hyacinth Latchman-Cuellar tells us more about today’s initiative and says that it continues on Friday at the Stella Maris.

“We went out on our own, our P.R. Department, we got gifts for each child in the class and of course we left some extras just in case and we got them a goody bag. And their goody bag was not regular goody bags. We made sure it was well plumped and well put together for the Children to take home this Christmas. Tomorrow, what we will do, our P.R., H.R. and parks department will be catering to one hundred and three children from Stella Maris primary school. So, when we get there tomorrow we will be serving some very healthy, buff breakfast for them and so that is a part of our 12 days of Christmas activities for the P.R. Department.”

“What does it mean for you guys as a unit, a team, to give back and you as a mom to give back to these kids who wouldn’t have this kind of cheer at Christmas?”

Hyacinth Latchman-Cuellar

“I have to tell you that not just for Christmas, but when we do these things just before Easter, Summer Holidays, we see the smile and we see them come to us and give us a hug; that really makes us feel satisfied and it makes us know that we are doing a good job – something we want to continue. So, for me just to see them smile and be happy, that makes us happy as well.”
