Father’s Lapse at Wheel Leads to Son’s Accident Death in Bladen

A three-year-old boy perished in a fatal road traffic accident along the Southern Highway this morning, while his father was driving a sports utility vehicle towards Hopkins Village.  The incident took place shortly after five a.m. in the vicinity of Bladen.  According to police, thirty-four-year-old Jose Oscar Sanchez Junior, was en route to the coastal community with his wife and three kids when he fell asleep at the wheel for a few seconds.  That brief lapse resulted in Sanchez running off the road and overturning.  His daughters, ten-year-old Naomi and seven-year-old Nadira, complained of back pain.  Fortunately, their mother, thirty-one-year-old Diana Pop Sanchez was unharmed.  Sadly, the same cannot be said for baby Darren Jose Sanchez, who as gravely injured in the mishap.  News Five spoke by phone with Assistant Superintendent of Police Clement Cacho earlier today.

“At approximately 5:10 a.m., on the twelfth of December 2017, police received information of a fatal road traffic accident at Bladen Village in the Toledo District.  As a result police visited the scene where upon arrival the observed on the left hand side of the road whilst traveling towards Bella Vista Village, a red in color Isuzu Rodeo vehicle in a ditch on the left hand side of the road.  Initial investigation reveals that Jose Oscar Sanchez, thirty-four-year-old tourism officer was driving to Hopkins Village along with his family, his wife and three kids.  It appears that Mr. Sanchez dosed off for a few seconds.”

 

Darren Jose Sanchez was pronounced dead by a medical professional.
