No Development on Recent Murders in San Pedro and Belize City

Alejandro Cowo

Who killed German national Raimund Adalbert Kobler in San Pedro on Sunday night?  It’s a mystery that local police on the island are still trying to unravel.  While an autopsy is scheduled for Friday, they are no closer to a motive for his murder.  Kobler’s lifeless body was discovered with a massive wound to his head inside a partially complete building on Monday morning around seven o’clock.  Meanwhile, on Friday night Dedron McKay was gunned down at his home on Haynes Street in Belize City.  Today, police provided an update in both cases.

ASP Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Belize City

“That matter is still under investigation.  So far we have received minimal information but we are still working on it.  The post mortem is scheduled for tomorrow and they have interviewed several persons in the area but they haven’t gotten much information to add to that.  So it is something that we’re still investigating there in San Pedro.”

Reporter

“Is there any chance he was in that building with someone pursuing illicit pleasures?”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“There is no indication up to now to the police as to that.”

Reporter

“If he was accompanied or not.  Okay.  And then Dedron McKay from Kraal Road and Haynes [Street].”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“Well, we have detained several persons and we are looking for a suspect at this time so that we can further question him as to what other things we can get from him.  Possibly from there we can possibly make and arrest if anything.”

Reporter

“And no has been arrested in regards to the shooting that preceded that a week earlier, around the corner?”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“No.”
