Preliminary Inquiry Delayed for Anke Doehm

Anke Doehm

But in the local courts, recently widowed Anke Doehm appeared before Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer. With her late husband David, she is accused of cruelty to a child – her thirteen-year-old adopted daughter, the late Faye Lin Cannon. But David took his own life at the Princess Hotel on October fifth, the same day as a custody hearing scheduled between the Doehms and the father of the remaining three Cannon children, also named David. Faye Lin’s battered body was found at the couple’s San Pedro condo in July, and since then they have faced a firestorm of criticism.  A preliminary inquiry was scheduled for today to determine if the case would go to trial at the Supreme Court.  But it was further postponed after prosecutor Jacqueline Willoughby indicated to the court that four key scientific reports have not been completed to be part of the disclosure. Some additional disclosure was made to Doehm in court. According to Willoughby, the reports should be completed by the next court date, December seventh. Doehm remains out on bail and continues to retain Senior Counsel Ellis Arnold as legal counsel.
