San Pedro restaurant owner bailed for rape of teenager

Restaurant owner, fifty-five year old Oscar Guerra, who was remanded into custody on a charge of rape, was released today on a bail of ten thousand dollars. The owner of My Secret Deli located on San Pedro, appeared today before Justice Herbert Lord who imposed conditions to bail. Guerra, a naturalized Belizean, must report to the San Pedro Police Station every Friday, beginning next week, appear in the San Pedro Magistrate’s Court on every adjourned date and not interfere with the virtual complainant or any of the Crown’s witnesses. The court also ordered him not to go within one hundred yards of his accuser or any member of her family. The alleged victim is a fifteen-year-old girl, who claims that Guerra raped her on October third. Guerra was represented at the bail application hearing by attorney Kevin Arthurs. Crown counsel Jackie Willoughby represented the respondent.
