Kylah Ciego of Dangriga Town is Belize’s new CARICOM Youth Ambassador

Kylah Ciego of Dangriga Town is Belize’s new female CARICOM Youth Ambassador. According to a post on the World Youth Conference Belize 2017 Facebook page, Ciego has spent years doing community and youth work in her home town and the wider Belize, saying, “She is passionate about supporting youth development and believes that in this era of globalization and connectedness we must be cognizant of the impact of our actions on others as we shape the type of world for future generations.” Ciego is described as having an emerging career in the field of social work. She has worked in youth leadership, child protection, juveniles in conflict with the law, HIV/TB infected persons.  Ciego also worked with the Department of Youth Services on the national youth policy and has served on the national youth council steering committee and is an alumnus of the GOJoven Program. Ciego holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Social Work from UB and is currently wrapping up her Master’s Degree in Public Administration in the UK. She is a 2016-2017 Chevening Scholar.
