Chicken Dread Vs CitCo, Round 3: This Time He Faces Obstruction Charge

Paul “Chicken Dread” Ferguson is once again at odds with the City Council. Back on September fifth, we reported that Ferguson had a fallout with members of the police department and CitCo special constables who threatened to remove his food trailer because of improper documentation. The trailer, according to Traffic Manager Kevan Jenkins, was not properly licensed or insured and was improperly parked overnight. Ferguson reportedly cleared that issue, but today, once again, as he tried to sell his fried chicken in front of E.P. Yorke High School, he was met with resistance by an armed police officer and several traffic officers. Within minutes he was taken into custody. Ferguson’s uncle, Godfrey Torres, who works along with him, explains what happened.

Duane Moody

“So you are saying that he was given a license to operate out here?”

Godfrey Torres

“…yeah given a license to operate. He mi had wah license but it neva ih mi…no it neva expired because it mi valid and the other day ih gone and pay seven hundred and fifty dollars or six hundred and fifty. And now the police man and the thing di talk something else. So I don’t know what dah the situation.”

Duane Moody

“Do you think that this is a personal attack against him?”

Godfrey Torres

“I woulda definitely say so yes cause the way how they always come and the way how they always change from one thing to the next thing.”

Duane Moody

“Unfortunately this time they took him in?”

Godfrey Torres

“Yeah they took him in. now they will charge him for obstruction, but what obstruction, I noh understand.”

The officers had threatened to tow the trailer away.
