Williams Versus Vidal: Senior Cops Told to Calm Down Confrontation

On Friday, Senior Superintendent Marco Vidal was served with a letter from attorney Andrew Marshalleck on behalf of Assistant Commissioner of Police Chester Williams.  Williams and Vidal are at odds over recent comments that the Eastern Division South commander made about his predecessor.  Those statements implied that Williams may have given preferential treatment to some criminal elements in return for them keeping the peace during his term as Regional Commander of E.D. South.  While Williams wasted no time responding to Vidal on Facebook, he followed his social media rant with a letter written by his lawyer.  Today, Acting Commissioner of Police Noel Leal weighed in on the controversy and said that CEO George Lovell from the Ministry of Home Affairs is urging the two senior officers to allow cooler heads to prevail.

“I personally have spoken to both officers and I’ve held discussions with the C.E.O. Mr. Lovell at the Ministry of Home Affairs and we are both of the opinion that they should desist and that they should discontinue that type of activity in  public.  And yes, they do have their rights and they have concerns, but we have asked them to, if possible, not to be having this issue on social media or in public.  So whatever they want to do, if they feel they must do then let that be from them through their attorney, but let it not be public.  That is what we asked them to do because the C.E.O. has indicated that he is concerned that this is not a matter for public consumption.  If they have a problem then let them thrash it out through their attorneys if that is the way they want to go.  We have spoken to both of them, I think we have quelled it sufficiently and warned them that we do have a disciplinary body which is the Security Services Commission which can address these matters if we believe it is necessary we’ll build a case and we’ll proceed that way if they do not discontinue.”

These two arrogant clown-bags are suppose to work together but the darn “croffy” Belizeans that we
are have no interest in the improvement of our community instead they keep trying to show off their machismo. How will the general public learn to respect each other if our superior law enforcement agents along with the GOB take no accountability for their actions.

Here we go again !!!! This nonsense of Racism in the country. Garinagu , we have to come together to fight this evil of racism against our people. It is plain to see that Vidal does not like Mr.Williams.Mr Vidal as a Professional could have said what he wants to say in a different manner. But this is how he will behave because he wants ” the position” that he cannot get because Chester might be more qualified that him. This is just the way it works in the Public service. I for one was also humiliated by one Creole woman at the workplace. But our Garinagu people our Ancestors lie God aren’t asleep . We shall PREVAIL OUT OF THIS NONSENSE and SOON WE will be respected.
