Chester to Vidal; Apologize or Face Legal Action

Senior Superintendent Marco Vidal has been served with a letter from attorney Andrew Marshalleck on behalf of Assistant Commissioner of Police Chester Williams for alleged slanderous comments made during a press brief on Tuesday.  In that interview, the Regional Commander of Eastern Division South insinuated that his predecessor basically gave preferential treatment to certain criminal elements in return for them keeping the peace.  Those remarks did not sit well with ACP Williams who is now demanding a public apology from Vidal or face legal action.  On Wednesday, we caught up with Senior Superintendent Vidal and asked him for a response to the threat of a lawsuit.  Here’s what he had to say:

“I don’t know if you want to promote conflict or promote peace. I am here to promote peace. I answered a question in exactly the manner in which it was asked. I have nothing else to say on that. If there is anything regarding police then I will answer the police matters then I will. But in regards to that matter, I don’t need to answer any more questions on that.”

Andrea Polanco

“Sir, so you don’t believe that you have been saying very inflammatory words about your predecessor? He says that he has not said anything bad about you?”

Sr. Supt Marco Vidal

“Well, unless you are trying to help him with his case, I have nothing more to say on that matter. I am not going to be helping anybody if it’s their case.”

Andrea Polanco

“Have you been alerted of possible court action from this?”

Sr. Supt Marco Vidal

“Well, I don’t know. I am hearing that from you. I know there is a number of things on social media but I have my own opinion of social media. But as I said, I will not contribute to anything that is being said. I have said what I said and I will leave it at that.”

“Do you retract anything?”

Sr. Supt Marco Vidal

“As I said, I will say nothing else in regards to that matter.”

Andrew, my friend, don’t get into that mess. I wouldn’t have even entertained Chester with that bullshit. Anytime he files a lawsuit then a whole lot of other things will start to come out about his doings and ill-gotten material gains. He is threading on needles. The” Streets” know a lot of his dirty business. What you should have advised him was to learn how to speak, spell and write proper English sentences, especially his sentence structure and grammar. Maybe teachers at SJC and Wesley Junior Colleges should have given him and quite a few of them their rightful grades instead of trying to get them out of school. Law Degrees, as they would say that they have, are being conferred like confetti. You and I both know that they can’t “back water” for us when you compare their level of education compared to ours. They can’t even withstand the rigors of five years at UWI, instead, they attend this online class and then go to a different campus in the Caribbean and barely make it, or fail at Mona Campus, but they’ve been ushered through. Asked Chester who took him through his time out there; the same young man he copied his ass off of at SJC Junior College. They all fail, Natalia, Dale, to name a few and they get their CERTIFICATES and government call them to the bar. It’s disgrace when you go into court and ninety percent of them can’t even deliver but it appears to them that they’re doing a wonderful job because they policemen, magistrates and jurors are as dumb or dumber than they are. Now tell them to sue me.

“It is what it is” reads an old sign in the backyard of my great grand father’s home here in Mehlado Alley. I grew up with the signage but never understood it, until now.

Congrats to Marco Vidal. You have spoken well. “It is what it is”. Chester? Needs to get real. “It is what it is”.
