Cop facing charges for gun bust

One week ago, Police Constable Franklin Ramirez was busted by fellow officers in the Mobile Interdiction Team along with three civilians. He was driving a vehicle carrying a gun hidden secretly under the dashboard coming across from Guatemala.  He was charged for firearm and ammunition offenses and is out on bail but his troubles are not over. Based on the police investigation being done by the MIT and supervised by the Professional Standards Branch, Ramirez will also face internal charges for his actions.

ACP Chester Williams, Commander, Professional Standards Branch

“That matter is being dealt with by the MIT. Yes, there is some degree of internal issue, but my office has given directive to the commander of MIT to proceed with disciplinary charges against the officer as well. So MIT is dealing with the criminal and disciplinary aspect of that matter and my office is only supervising the disciplinary matter to ensure that it goes through to the end.”

“What sort of disciplinary charges will be brought against Mr. Franklin Ramirez?”

ACP Chester Williams

“That would be act of prejudice to good order and discipline.”
