Two more suspects in Caribbean Tire robbery

On the Phone: Supt. Richard Rosado

San Ignacio police continue to investigate the burglary of the Caribbean Tires depot in Spanish Lookout, Cayo District, which is believed to be an inside job. On Saturday some twenty thousand U.S. dollars in cash; five thousand in cheques and an undisclosed amount in Belizean currency were stolen but a majority of it was almost immediately recovered thanks to significant assistance from the surrounding community.  An employee of the business remains detained pending charges, but the news tonight is that two other persons have been detained in connection with the incident. We get more from Superintendent Richard Rosado, officer in command in San Ignacio.

On the Phone: Supt. Richard Rosado, O.C. San Ignacio Police

“Charges has not been laid as yet; my officers are still out in the field, gathering evidential material so that we could hopefully lay charges on two other individuals, so the investigation is still ongoing.”

“Are you looking for those two particular individuals?”

Superintendent Richard Rosado

“No, we have them detained, but we are just trying to build the case against them. We have the main suspect but we have not laid charges against them because we are building the case against the two other individuals who we believe assisted him.”
