Magistrate Norman Rodriguez to Learn Fate on Rape Charge
Magistrate Norman Rodriguez was back in court earlier this week. The interdicted magistrate appeared in the Dangriga Magistrate Court on Thursday for disclosure of the evidence the Crown has against him in the alleged rape of a woman. But that didn’t happen and the disclosure was moved to August twenty-fourth. That day is when the preliminary inquiry into the matter was scheduled to be held to determine if there is a prima facie case to submit to the southern session of the Supreme Court. The alleged rape for which Rodriguez was charged involves a twenty-seven-year-old woman who had been in a common-law relationship with Rodriguez. It was reported that the incident happened on Friday, April twentieth, when Rodriguez allegedly forced himself on the woman when she visited his house in Dangriga.
