CEMO’s Willoughby steps up to help

Since the fire on Sunday night, CEMO has been on the ground assisting the displaced families. CEMO, along with Ministry of Human Services and other local partner agencies are providing support to more than ten persons who lost everything to the blaze. Since last night they were moved to the St Martin’s School where they will be staying temporarily. CEMO’s front man Philip Willoughby says that clothing, and food supplies as well as shelter will be provided for the affected families. Earlier today he gave us an update on what CEMO is doing for the families.

“I received mattresses, blankets, beddings, food supply and water for those who were affected as a result of the fire. We then proceeded to open St Martin’s De Porres Primary School as a shelter for them. There are currently four families over there. The owner of the structures that there burnt down is with family members which are three. Up to last night I met with at least thirteen of those who were affected as a result of the fire. The young lady who lost the child, I finally met her this morning and I believe the total number of those affected is seventeen. At the conclusion of this interview, I will proceed to engage with Honorable senior Minister Elrington to see what is the long term solution and the way forward, as it was in his constituency. TI want to say this, we will be assisting the affected families the same way we assisted those who were affected in the Majestic Alley fire. And if anyone wants to make any construction or donation to those who were affected. Kindly do so through our good office at NEMO so that we can collaborate, network and it enables us not to create any duplication or wastage.”
