Vendors can’t catch ear of CitCo

You heard Reneau say that they were never consulted and now they are being asked not to conduct business. The vendors are not happy about the situation and they have since been asking questions at the City Council but that Mayor Darrell Bradley is out of the country and no one wants to deal with the matter. Reneau say that the head of the vendors’ association received a text from the Mayor asking for the matter to be resolved – but so far they haven’t had much progress in that regard. They are to also meet with the manager of the B.T.L. Park to see if the issues can be resolved.

Mark Reneau, BTL Park Vendor

“As far as I know, the office of the Mayor a lot of time they didn’t what was happening. They didn’t know that a paper got signed and I tried to speak to some of them up to this morning and they didn’t know nothing. They a little bit kind of “dizzled-dazzled” as to what. Now, my chairman he got a text from the Mayor.”

Andrea Polanco

“That’s the chairman of the Vendors Association?”

Mark Reneau

“Yes. The Association. Now, he got a text from the Mayor saying to talk to other people at the City Council, but the other people at the City Council do not want to touch it; do not want to interfere with it because it is already there. But like I said, I don’t have a problem if they had come to us first and now this second they wah tell me that I can’t have a parking now? No. That’s not right. You have Memorial Park.”

Andrea Polanco

“Where do you guys take this from here? I know you guys are meeting; is this a consensus of all the vendors out here; are you guys all in agreement with perhaps the breach of policy and all these demands that they are making?”

Mark Reneau

“Yes. That is why we having a meeting for, for all this for the breach of policy and where we go from here. Because if we let this happen once, it gonna happen twice.”
