Soldier implicated by text clams up to News Five

News Five has obtained the video purportedly showing multiple communications between a high-level soldier of the Belize Defence Force and one of the persons found on Friday with used battle dress uniforms and discarded outboard engines that had been property of the B.D.F.  Among the recovered items are ninety battle dress uniforms; various amounts of specialized shirts, pants and other accoutrements as well as peak caps and a helmet, all made to B.D.F. specification.  The bust happened in Orange Walk Town, but the video made the previous day show that the officer, identified as Major Jermaine Burns of the Air Wing, apparently telling his contact that there were no B.D.F. soldiers in an unidentified but specific area and that he needed to call one Codd, the supervisor of the Vehicle Care Unit in the Ministry of Finance, so that he could clear it up with Brigadier General David Jones.  There were also six missed calls between Burns, Codd and other unidentified persons to the phone displayed in the video. We contacted Major Burns who said he was not authorized to comment and instead directed us to General Jones, whom we could not reach up to news time.

All these people should be charged, reduced in rank and dismissed without severance pay. Just another joke of the security of Belize my commanding officials.
