The Search Continues for Mark Pollard

Mark Pollard

Forty-nine year old Mark Pollard remains missing tonight. He has not been seen since he left home to go on a morning run to the Haulover Bridge on Monday. Family and friends have searched the northern area of the Old Capital since then to no avail and only one clue has been picked up in that time – and not a good one. They are prepared for the worst, but have not given up hope yet. The group has planned a larger search for Saturday morning and this afternoon we spoke to organizer Joseph Nunez about it.

“Yesterday while doing our searches by Chetumal area, I found a two-by-four with what appears to be blood stains on it. I handed it over to the police, so I’m waiting for them to do their tests and get back to us.”

“But that’s it as far as to any clue as to where he might have gone?”

“Only God knows, bredda; to be honest only God knows as to his whereabouts; but we will stay optimistic; we will keep the faith; we will hold the faith; we will do whatever we need to do. And six o’clock tomorrow morning we are asking the general public to come out and assist us; we will search again tomorrow morning. We will start from the Faber’s Road junction toward Mile six Western Highway and after that – it all depends on the amount of people that come out to support or come out to help us; we want to cover the Western Highway and Northern Highway simultaneously. We are hoping and praying for the best but we are prepared for the worst likewise. These days when you go missing, you know you always fear the worst, but so far the family and the friends are being optimistic and holding the faith that maybe we find him alive, but if so be the case, even if he’s dead the bottom line is that we need to find this man, straight up.”
