P.U.P. Wants to Turn Port Loyola Blue

We caught up with leader of the People’s United Party John Briceño this afternoon on a walking tour of the Port Loyola constituency, flanked by the party’s standard bearer Gilroy Usher, Senior. Usher lost the 2015 general election to Anthony “Boots” Martinez by seventy-three votes, substantially reducing the margin from previous elections and surprising political observers. Even with the retirement of Martinez, Usher is taking nothing for granted, and neither is Briceño.

“Gilroy has invited me to come and to walk in Port Loyola, to meet the people in Port Loyola, and to have a better understanding as to the challenges that the people in Port Loyola face every day. As I have been saying over and over and over, if you want to lead this country, you can’t lead by sitting behind a desk – you need to be out in the streets; you need to be out in the communities; you need to be able to visit people and to listen to them – what are their challenges, what are their aspirations, and what are some of the things they would want to see in a new P.U.P. Government.”

“Many thanks to the Party Leader for taking timeout from his busy schedule to come and meet as many residents of Port Loyola as possible. As he has said this is a very important tour, because it gives him the opportunity to see firsthand, for himself, the hardships that the people have been going through for the last ten years under an incompetent and corrupt U.D.P. administration. Now this tour has two aspects to it. Today, Friday, we are touring Area Twenty which is the Pen Road area. Tomorrow, Saturday, the Party Leader will be touring Yabra area which is Area Twenty-two; and Area Twenty-Two A which is the Jane Usher area.”

  1. Marie says:

My concern is clean up the streets of crime and gangs. Get jobs going in development of community and private business. Get rid of career politicians and members in government offices. Have accountability of their actions.
