Ethics Committee to be Established as F.F.B. Infighting Continues

Marlon Kuylen

All the infighting and turmoil within the F.F.B. has allowed interim president Marlon Kuylen, himself a candidate for presidency, a few more months at the helm of the organization.  But what happens next, as far as a schedule of events to resolve the internal conflict?  According to Kuylen, there are a few steps that need to be taken, including the establishment of an ethics committee.

Isani Cayetano

“Is there a tentative schedule or a timetable that has been established to look at the upcoming events within the F.F.B., in terms of the elections, the calling of an extraordinary congress, the resumption of this particular meeting to discuss the budget and the activities and what have you?”

Marlon Kuylen, Acting President, F.F.B.

“Well what we need to do now is to call an extraordinary congress to go through these items that were not approved today and convince the others that abstained from being here today to attend that extraordinary congress so we can get those items approved, including the electing of an ethics committee and then we move forward from there.”

“Is there anything else you can tell us insofar as what transpired with the CONCACAF representatives now that they have attended this second round of failed meetings, if I may?”

Marlon Kuylen

“Well they made it clear that we did not need a quorum today and they touched on the items that could have been approved and those that could not be approved and one of the sticking points was that you cannot suspend, expel or dismiss a member in a congress like this without a quorum.  And it seems that that got the remaining members here upset because based on their outburst and their behavior, it seems that they were hell-bent on suspending some people here today.”

“Would you be at liberty to share the names of those individuals whom they would have wanted to see benched?”

Marlon Kuylen

“I’m not sure, you know.  We’ve been hearing rumors that they wanted to suspend the members, the affiliates that did not show up.  And then we heard that maybe it was the executive that they wanted to suspend but I guess you’d have to ask them.”
