San Pedro Missing Man Left Rehabilitation Center

Erin Linarez

A San Pedro man is missing for over three weeks and his family is desperately looking for him. Thirty two year old Erin Linarez left his family home on the island on the twenty first of May to voluntarily check himself into the REMAR rehabilitation center in Bullet Tree Village. Linarez was suffering from alcoholism – and that was his first time at the center, but he only spent one night because the following morning he checked himself out in the early hours of the morning. Linarez left the rehab walking but he left behind his cell.  He hasn’t been seen for days and his mother stopped at News Five studios today to ask for the public’s help to locate her son. Rose Marie Linarez says she got a strange phone call last weekend and it has left the family worried and it appears police are no closer to finding her son.

“The villagers said he was around the village the whole day. I went to four different villages in the area to see.”

Andrea Polanco

“Did they see him with anybody? Maybe hanging around with a friend or another person?”

Rose Marie Linarez

“No. They said he was looking for me.”

Andrea Polanco

“Now you said that he had a little drinking problem and that day he was looking for you , even though he knows you live in San Pedro; does he have any other problem – maybe a mental problem or?”

Rose Marie Linarez

“Well, something like that because like my friend was telling me that maybe he lost his mind. Because why would he be looking for you like that and why doesn’t he call me because we are very close.”

Andrea Polanco

“Are you concerned that something has happened to your son?”

Rose Marie Linarez

“I concerned about that; as his mother and his friends all of us are concerned and the whereabouts of him.  Sunday I got a call and that is what got me like – the person called. She called from a Smart phone and when I was saying hello, hello; all I heard was like someone was trying to cry but like they have his mouth tape up.”

Andrea Polanco

“Just give us a description of him so that if people watch the news they can be on the lookout for him?”

Rose Marie Linarez

“They said he was in a greens shirt and a Hawaiian pants and a slippers. He has a tattoo with his son’s name and has another tattoo on his chest. He is like coolie descent and about five feet tall.”

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Erin Linarez, you are asked to contact the Police or you can reach his family at the following numbers: 660-0506.
