Macebearer Not Barred from Senate Committee

Laura Longsworth

There will be another public hearing of the Senate Special Select Committee tomorrow, Wednesday, and members of the Belizeans against Courtenay movement led by Alberto August are expected to be there. Former Immigration Minister Carlos Perdomo will continue his testimony from last week, while Immigration Officer Ady Pacheco and ASP Rochelle Chan also in the witness chair. With his job safe, is “Yellow Man” free to return to his work place outside of parliamentary duties? Speaker Longsworth indicated he has been advised by other confidantes not to attend the public hearings, but is not specifically barred from doing so. She also addressed how the media workers’ decision not to press criminal charges may have spared Audinett’s job.

On the Phone: Laura Longsworth, Speaker of the House

“As far as I know he has not been attending those Senate Committee meetings and I suspect that that will continue; I cannot say for sure. That will not affect his ability to attend, what will affect his ability to attend – the letters directly address his behaviour in the House. In addition to what happened on Friday, he appeared in front of the Committee and was given a stern lecture and warning, so there was a verbal warning; there’s a written warning, and it was made clear that this was as far as the Committee was willing to go. As the Chair I did what I was supposed to do; and we have followed through, action has been taken and as far I am concerned that is the end of that. The other thing that was taken into account was this whole issue of the media, where the media did not press charges. If you are aware, if the media had pressed charges then there would have been no need for the Staff Committee to meet, because it’s very clear: once you are charged, you cannot be in the National Assembly.”

So…what your saying is…if a miscreant like Yellow can’t face consequences for behavior that CLEARLY goes against the post he represent…Then we as Belizeans are really truly absolutely F}#^><€*!!!!!!!
Justice & Integrity in this country is quickly becoming figments of our imagination. I had…we had higher hopes for you madam speaker. I sensed from when PM Barrow publicly stated that the vileness and viciousness of this waste of taxpayers macebearer should be forgiven that you would follow suit.
Unbelievable! What are we teaching our children? Belize will forever be party first! Let's just tell our children to drop out of school from now and start leeching on the nearest politician or politician son from now! You may have better luck then to be a macebeaarer, head of the free zone, control the airport, be a senator, or a director of the Press Office. sad. This country is just SAD!!!!
