Cabinet Colleagues Weigh In on Castro: Finnegan Wants to Hear from U.S.

Edmond Castro

It has come out in court and today in the senate that Minister Edmond Castro has been involved in countless recommendations for Asians at a fee; in fact, his name is mentioned several times within the Auditor General’s Special Report. So is this the reason for the cancellation of his visa? Today, Castro’s cabinet colleague Michael Finnegan said that it is unfortunate that he was stripped of his visa.

“I don’t know the reason why. I don’t know why. Maybe I may agree with the reason or maybe I disagree with the reason. Did the U.S. embassy issue a release saying why the visa was canceled or the visas? Well we have to wait to hear what the reason from the United States Embassy. And I may ask Mister Castro because maybe the reason was given to Mister Castro.  I don’t know and you are asking me to speculate and I will not. I want to deal with the facts. And if I have the facts, I will be able to comment. It is an unfortunate situation; whatever the facts may be, it is unfortunate.”
