Dennis Haylock Charged for Unlawful Sex with Minor

A Belize City engineer is tonight on remand at the Belize Central Prison after he was accused by a fourteen-year minor of sexual abuse on April sixteenth of this year.   This morning, Dennis Haylock was arraigned for a single count of unlawful sexual intercourse. The minor was fourteen years at the time of the alleged incident, which she claims occurred at his house in Lord’s Bank, Ladyville.   In a report to police, the minor claimed that on April fifteenth 2017, at about eight o’clock, while she was along with her cousin walking on Lord’s Bank Road, Haylock joined them. When her cousin left, she accompanied Haylock to his house where she spent the night.  The minor told the police that Haylock abused her on the following day. He was later picked up and charged. It is not certain why it took almost one month for the police to take action since the minor made the report following the alleged incident. Haylock is due back in court in July.

  1. Clue says:

And do pray tell me, in fact the entire Belizean public why was fourteen year old spending the night at a grown man’s house? Channel Five, please elaborate on this story some more; maybe she’s a relative, a family friend, etc… Nonetheless, where are the parents? The judgment exercised by both them and Mr. Haylock is questionable. I’m not going to let him off the hook but this seems questionable. These parents let their kids roam freely and I’ve said it time and time again, there’s no structure in the family. Parents don’t teach nor guide their kids. Families don’t pray. Mothers are “pimping” out their daughters to men because economic situations are dire in Belize. It will only get worse.
