Paul Jex Jr. Sent to Supreme Court on Rape Charge
Paul Jex Junior is the last person to see his case go to preliminary inquiry in the home invasion that occurred back on December sixth, 2015 at the house of businessman, Sarkis Bou Nehra in Burrell Boom. Jex Junior, along with several other Belize City men, namely: Brandon Baptist, Tyrone Meighan as well as John and Sheldon Grinage were all committed to stand trial for aggravated burglary. Today, Jex Junior’s P.I. concluded before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith. He did not challenge any of the evidence of Prosecutor, Corporal Kennard Clark. That is because the evidence against him is overwhelming since DNA results place him as the alleged attacker and person who raped the watchman’s wife. The Chief Magistrate committed his case to stand trial at the June session of the Supreme Court. In the meantime, Jex Junior remains behind bars without bail. Others such as Tyrone Meighan are out on bail while John and Sheldon Grinage and Brandon Baptist are on remand at the Belize Central Prison also awaiting trial for an unrelated murder of a Dangriga resident which occurred on Administration Drive near the Complex in 2016. The home invasion of the Bou Nehra residence occurred when he and his family were away. The watchman and his wife were at the house when the band of robbers broke in, robbed the place and raped the housekeeper.
