Overgrown Lots and Abandoned Vehicles Will Also be Cleared
As a part of the multi-agency approach to clean up the city and make it safer, additional works will be undertaken outside of the demolition of derelict buildings. These efforts will include removing abandoned vehicles and clearing of overgrown lots. According to the City Council, there are twelve lots and sixteen derelict vehicles identified so far that will be addressed under this project. Philip Willoughby explains how the work will get done.

“The second aspect is the aspect of lot cleaning. The sanitation manager, along with the Director of Courts Ms McKenzie, will be coordinating with the prison for us to deal with the prisoners to clean these over grown lots. Thirdly, the Police Department will be working with us to deal with the removal of derelict vehicles.”
