Twin Towns Mayor Addresses Crime
Earlier in the newscast you heard about the cold killing of a well-known and respected Pastor of San Ignacio. The news has shocked the San Ignacio and Santa Elena communities. When we spoke with Mayor Earl Trapp earlier today he said that the level of crime is a concern for his residents, and it will push them to band together in this difficult time – but he says and calls on his towns to look to God through these difficult times.
Earl Trapp, Mayor, San Ignacio/Santa Elena
“It is a concern for people here in San Ignacio. We are not used to this type of living. We are more a community of peace of living. You know, a community of unity. And what it will do is it will put more the residents in a state of alert and a state to be more careful in whatever we do and where ever we go. You know, it is not only in San Ignacio, I know in other parts of the country it is worst. All I can do is pray to God that things will change and pray that the citizens of this country will be more God-fearing citizen and that we will walk more in the light of God and that is the only way things will change. Things will continue to be more peaceful if we could only learn to put God first in our lives.”
