Who Killed Walter Dawson in Ladyville?

Several hours later, Rural Eastern Division police officers were called out to a remote area on Marage Road, near the Caribbean Shrimp Farm in Ladyville. There, they found the mutilated body of fifty-seven-year-old Walter Dawson, a resident of mile eleven on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Dawson had multiple chop wounds to the head and shoulder and his neck was almost severed. While the body was discovered around seven o’clock on Sunday morning, it is believed that he was killed sometime around three-thirty a.m.  Media Officer, Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood says that the investigation continues into this homicide.

“Initial investigations reveal that some neighbors heard their dogs barking unusually sometime between three-thirty and four a.m., but when they looked out they didn’t see anything. Sometime after seven, a Good Samaritan, so to speak, was walking to work when he found this person lying face down on the edge of the road. [He] called for police and police responded. He received severe head injury and a cut wound to the neck, almost decapitating him. He had other stab wounds and injuries to the back. At this time we don’t know what the motive is; we are asking the assistance of the public to help us to try and solve this one, very difficult. Like I am saying we don’t have eyewitnesses so without that it is very difficult.”

“Sir can you say definitively if it is believed where the body was found was actually where the crime was committed?”

Insp. Fitzroy Yearwood

“I cannot say for certain, but the persons that have been questioned in that area, they don’t reside too far from the area where the body was found, so more or less it could be.”
