Darrell Bradley

Darrell Bradley, Belize City Mayor

“We are still continuing to build cement streets. We are still continuing to upgrade roads. Recently, the City Council acquired a tar truck from the flood mitigation project. We had a symbolic asphalting of a street, so that we are starting to utilize those equipment in particular areas of Belize City. I did a tour with Deputy Mayor Dean Samuels, where we identified a series of streets in the Port Loyola, Lake Independence and Collet Area of Belize City which will be shortly be upgraded to what we have called ‘pre-paid’ status. Several of the streets that we have already upgraded, we are going to use this tar truck to asphalt these streets so that they last a lot longer. The project in relation to the man-hole covers that is ongoing. We have had difficulties with the contractor – substantial difficulties. But there’s a significant number of man-hole covers that have been upgraded.”
