News Five Says ‘I do’ to Wedding Expo

It’s the month of love and for those brides to be, an event by Confetti on Saturday turned out to have all the ingredients for the perfect wedding.  It started with an expo in the morning where couples were connected to companies representing all goods and services for that special day. In the night, a fashion show of fabulous wedding gowns and tuxes culminated the day’s event. On hand was Bianca Golden of America’s Next Top Model. News Five’s Duane Moody attended both events and has the following report.

Bridging the gap between a couple and their dream wedding – that’s what the Belize Wedding Expo 2017 by Confetti did for engaged couples at the Biltmore Plaza this weekend. All the pieces that are needed to put a wedding together, including the dress, entertainment, photography and honeymoon packages…all were on display by various stakeholders in the industry. It’s the brainchild of Confetti’s owner Jaime Correa, who says that the first of its kind event was a success.

“As an event planner, a wedding planner, I definitely saw the need for there to be a common ground—one location—where you can access everything that you would need for the wedding. Most importantly there are couples that don’t want to go through an event planner to do all the services. So they want to do the things themselves, the do-it-yourselvers. So they would want to access the pastry chef, they want to go to the photographer, they want to go to each individual vendor and I thought that that was a very valid reason to have this event.”

Photography is always key for a perfect wedding as it captures a couples memories on film. Great packages were offered by Knight and Day Photography that documents everything leading up to the moment you say ‘I Do.’

“When people are getting married, they overlook photography; that the last thing that they want to look for. And when the core is finished, all they are left with is their memories. And that is where we come in. We capture everything from getting dressed, the reception, the ceremonies, the procession together and you get all of that so that you can look back at your memories. We’ve been doing this for four years…our photography, especially our weddings. And it is very important to get this type of stuff out to the public so they can know what we offer.”

The place was packed to capacity with couples as well as brides looking for those special offers to ensure that they have the perfect wedding. Tiffany Castillo says that she’s almost ready, but was inspired by the décor on display.

“I’m here to check out the options, getting married soon and came to find out what I can find. Caterers, wedding…people to take my pictures, wedding dresses from Confetti…came to check out their flowers as well.”

“Talk to us about what you’ve seen here. Has there been anything that you see that you’d want for your wedding?”

“Well the one thing that catch my eye was the Confetti flowers wall…it’s very, very beautiful and the wedding dresses as well.”

Tying the knot with that perfect someone is usually a costly feat. And Atlantic Bank Limited also provided great offers to finance the perfect wedding.

“Well as you know, our motto is “Building Your Future Together,” so what we tried to do…we know that the first step is the wedding, but it is always an expense. We’re here to help you with that where we will be able to finance you regardless of the fact if you already have some savings before – sometimes you budget it. Ten thousand dollars for the wedding, but you come up and realize you know what the cake dah mi actually five hundred rather than two hundred and fifty; additional expenses come up to maybe two thousand more. Come in and talk to us; we’ll be gladly to go and finance you for that additional two thousand dollars or regardless of how much you need.”

The expo ended with a fashion show featuring wedding dresses of Brides by Confetti and various tuxedos provided by Belize Dry Cleaners. It was a perfect end to a great day, says Jaime Correa.

“Tonight you saw a couple weeks, probably months, of preparation. It shows a lot of dedication on behalf of Team Confetti and the people that are involved, including our stakeholders, etc. So I am very proud and happy that everything was a resounding success. I must conclude the night by being ecstatic; it was nothing short of being one of the very good days—business-wise, friends-wise, everything-wise—because at the end of the day, when everybody walked out through that door, I could see a lot of smiles and everybody excited and happy of what’s coming in 2018.”
