Jesus Mai a Stabbing Victim in Ladyville
Wilfred “Chickie Blue Nicholas, a resident of Ladyville, received cut wounds to the head and a few of his dreadlocks were chopped off after the owner of Green Jade Restaurant reportedly attacked him with a cleaver. But there was another act of violence in the village later than night on Friday. Thirty-year-old Jesus Mai was stabbed multiple times to the side by at least four persons in the Lord’s Bank community as he headed home to his wife and two children. After the attack, Mai collapsed into a drain near a tortilla shop located a few meters away from where he lived. His family rushed to the scene and took him out of the murky water before the ambulance would whisk him away to the K.H.M.H. News Five spoke today with his Common-law wife, Amira Torres who says she was about to go to sleep when she got a distress call.
“I was at home with my kids and my mother law just about to go to sleep when I got a call from his aunt. She called me and told me that Jesus got stabbed and they found him in the drain, bleeding to death. We were hurrying to get out there, but by the time we reached, the ambulance had already gone. We rushed to the hospital and by the time we got there, the doctors didn’t allow us to go in because they were cleaning him up and tending to his wounds. At four a.m. we went in to see him and he wasn’t doing too well; he was in and out of…he was unconscious and he was on heavy drugs. I think that what they did to him…it’s like they don’t have a heart. How can you do somebody something like that? I mean come on, you have brothers, you have sisters you have family. I mean this guy has two kids and me. I mean what if they mi kill he? He said that they took the knife and they jam it in, like dehn dreg it ina ahn.”
“Where was he? Did he say why someone attacked him?”
“He apparently was hanging out with one of his friends in Lord’s Bank and some little altercation went on and he said before this go on any further, make I just go home. He was jogging home and they drove up behind him and that when the four of them—four men in a pickup—jumped out and they start beating him up. He fought all four of them and one of them hit him in the head with a pint bottle, hold him in the throat from behind and stabbed him. But he said he didn’t feel the stab. I guess until when he reach Lord’s Bank junction, beside the tortilla factory and I guess they finish beat him and they found him in the drain.”
