Mai Family Asks Witnesses to Come Forward

Initially, Mai was in a critical condition and his condition had improved. According to Torres, he was to be released, but he has developed an infection and the doctors will continue to monitor him. She says that she is hoping for the best and hopes that the family gets justice for what has happened to her common-law husband.

“Yeah he is talking, they put him to talk. He had a tube inside his throat to flush the excess blood that was inside him. He said to me this morning that they were going to release him after they took out the tube. But apparently after they removed it, the wound was infected and they gave him antibiotics and whatever and now, after they took out the tube, a little after claps is ketching [him]. I don’t know what else to say, but I don’t like it and I wish that they find the four bastards that did that.”

“Are the police saying anything? Have they located any of these persons? Are they detained?”

“We don’t know right now at the moment. They already took down his statement and as far as we know, we are hearing all kinds of rumors. We know that there are people who see and noh want come forward and talk. And we woulda really appreciate if anybody see anything would come forward and give we whatever information they have so we could find these people that did this to him.”
