Family Wonders Why Owner is Now Pressing Charges
Police came out to the scene within minutes because the incident occurred just around the corner from the Ladyville Police Station. An injured Nicholas and his wife were escorted to the medical facility at the B.D.F. Compound at Price Barracks. There, they were given a medico form by the police who left the facility. But there was no doctor available and the Nicholas’ were then taken to the K.H.M.H. by a relative where ‘Chicky Blue’ received several stitches for the cuts. Lois says that her husband was released and took the medico form to the police station only to find out that the Chinese business was pressing charges against him.
Lois Hererra, Wife of Chopping Victim
“When he gone back with the medico form, dehn tell ahn the bwai say he will press charges. My husband tell ahn that he is going to press charges because dah he get wounded. Dah noh he chop them; dah dehn chop he. He tell ahn that he wah press charges and the police weh take the statement say that the bwai say dehn have footage. Well if dehn have footage, show di footage because from when the police gone deh, before we gone, when the police di tell dehn open the grill door, open the grill door; dehn neva want open it. He and ih pa deh back of the counter mussi di erase the footage. But if you have footage, bring it make we see it. Dah wah show exactly weh happen and yo wah see when ih pa chop up mi husband ina ih head too. Dehn shoulda mi hold di father because he chop my husband ina ih head. Dehn shoudla mi hold he, but dehn noh hold he. Instead dah ih son gone make wah report; di son. Dah never di son chop my husband; dah di pa. So why dehn never arrest di father? Huh? Dehn should have because if dah mi di other way around, and my husband mi gone in there and chop dehn, my husband mi wah deh dah jail all like now…mussi mi just gwen dah court cause dehn mi wha hold ahn. No man; this thing dah noh double standard.”
