Convicted for Firearm Possession, Eugene Bailey Makes a Break

Eugene Bailey

Police have re-captured thirty-nine-year old Eugene Bailey, who fled the long arms of law at the Queen Street police station at around noon today. Bailey had been taken to the station after he was sentenced to two-five year prison terms for firearm and ammunition offenses earlier in the morning. It is reported that he disappeared after he requested a bathroom break.  This morning, Bailey changed his not guilty plea to guilty for the two criminal offenses of keeping a firearm and ammunition without a license when he appeared before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza. The offense goes back to February last year when he was found with a point thirty-eight pistol loaded in his pants as he stood near a vehicle.  Bailey is no stranger to the police. On December first, 2016, he was arraigned along with another male for burglary at the Lucky Star Supermarket on Central American Boulevard and stealing cash in different denominations, along with an assortment of groceries. Police say the duo was allegedly caught hiding in a freezer.  Bailey managed to secure bail through the Supreme Court while he had the firearm offenses pending trial.
