George Street Invades Ladyville – Police Want Them Out!

Edward Broaster

On Tuesday night sometime around eight, there was a shooting in the village of Sandhill; fortunately, no one was injured, but that there was a shooting at the same residence some weeks ago. Now, the man whose life was threatened is in police custody for protection. Today, we spoke with Regional Commander Edward Broaster who told us that they have information to suggest that the shooting is linked to elements of a gang.  ACP Broaster said that there are members of the George Street gang who have since transplanted to Ladyville and surrounding areas and he has every intention to get them out. Here’s that interview:

ACP Edward Broaster, Regional Commander, Rural Eastern Division

“Yes. I did mention to the officers that there are elements of George Street that are in our jurisdiction that we need to seek out and deal with. We had a shooting last night in Sand Hill, non-fatal. And we have intelligence who more or less is directing the shooting and hence the reason why I inform my officers that we must ensure that we get them out of there.”

Andrea Polanco

“Do you believe these gang members or gang affiliates are involved in that shooting or had a hand in that?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“We believe that they may have triggered it. Whichever way, whether they did it or it was against them we are not quite sure at this time.”

Andrea Polanco

“Do you have an idea how many of them are operating within your jurisdiction?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“In that area, yes.”

Andrea Polanco

“Roughly how many?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“I will not comment on that. Shots were fired at a resident and no one was injured. This is the same resident that was home that was shot at some months ago where a female was shot in the buttocks some months ago.”

Reporter

“Do you believe the intent was to kill?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“We can’t quite state that but we know that they fired at the house.”

Reporter

“Okay. But do you expect to bring any charges?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“If we find the individuals and find evidence to charge the individuals, yes we will.”

Reporter

“And you know who they are?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“Like I said, we don’t know who fired the shots but we know that there are elements of George Street in the area and we are looking for them.”

Andrea Polanco

“Do you think another attempt will be made on this individual’s life and will Police be looking or monitoring that?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“Well, we have him in custody for his own safety.”
