Police gear up for busy Christmas season

ACP Chester Williams

The Christmas season is now upon us, it means that the police will be working overtime to keep up with criminals. The Police Department is embarking on an anti-crime campaign to ensure at least in the commercial areas citizens are safe. Chester Williams says more boots will be on the ground.

ACP Chester Williams, Regional Commander, Eastern Division South

“Our Christmas Anti-crime Campaign officially begins tomorrow but we have stepped up our presence in the commercial area because we are aware of the fact that some people are already in the Christmas mode, shopping. And so we want to be able to make those persons safe as they do their shopping. So as a result of that, we have increased our presence in the commercial area; that is Albert Street, Regent Street, Orange Street, Bishop Street and King Street area. So you will see more of that as of tomorrow leading up to the night time when stores close at nine. So you will see more police presence in the different commercial zones as well as the gang ridden areas.”
