Trial Begins for Accused Killer of Female U.B. Student in Toledo

Corina Co

The trial of Jonathon Cucul for the chopping death of UB student Corina Co is taking place at the Dangriga Supreme Court. Co was killed in February 2013 in a village in Toledo. Twelve witnesses have started their testimony in the trial which involves a confession statement by the then sixteen-year-old Cucul and an oral admission he made to a police officer. Before she died, the victim told a B.D.F. sergeant that it was Cucul who had chopped her.  The sergeant was on his way home to Laguna Village in Toledo, when he came across Co on the road side suffering from multiple chop wounds to the neck and body. The trial without jury started Tuesday and continues before Justice Denis Hanomansingh.
