Should Gapi Leave House? Boots Doesn’t Think So

Gaspar Vega

Still on the issue of land scams….one of the most scandalous has to be compensation paid to Ron J Limited for a parcel of Placencia land. He acquired that property at six thousand plus dollars and the government agreed to pay him a million dollars for the same property. This deal also occurred when the former DPM, Gaspar Vega, was at the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Anthony “Boots” Martinez, U.D.P. Minister

“That is not a matter for me; that is a matter for Mister Vega to take up. That is a matter for Mister Vega that he resigned from Cabinet. That is not a matter for me and I don’t want to be thinking for people. I sure think for myself.”

Duane Moody

“But looking at all the revelations over the past month and half, do you think that there was hanky panky in the lands department and that he should get out?”

“I don’t know weh all revelations you are talking about. I know, as far as I am concerned about one revelation of which the man resigned over. I don’t know about all…maybe you might know about lot more that I don’t know.”

Reporter

“Ron J Limited from number eight Albert Street. He is a property owner in Placencia which got property for six thousand and flipped it on a compensation for a million dollars.”

Anthony “Boots” Martinez

“And dah who involved in it?”

Reporter

“Somebody friendly has to be involved.”

Anthony “Boots” Martinez

“Man noh tell me about nobody friendly. I think that the main stinking point in Mister Vega’s resignation was an incident involving his son. Then everything, all compensation now is tied to Mister Vega? To me that is not fair and I am sure that if you look on the compensation list over the years under both administration yow ah see things like den deh.”
